Группа Big Tuna сформировалась поздним летом 2036 года на осколках популярной мар-марской команды The Velvet Vultures после того, как те прервали на неопределенный срок свою работу из-за подозрений о смертельной болезни бывшего вокалиста группы Les McMurray. Костяк новой группы составили Jeff (Stumpy Pete) Cassens (ударные) и John (John) Bazz (Бас-гитара). К ним присоединились Scott (DaStink) Scheuneman (гитара) и давний член группы - Matt (Big Matty) Samia (гитара и вокал). В этом составе они записали такие эпохальные хиты, как Jam's Tune, Dim Lights, Thick Smoke, and Loud, Loud Music и Sweet Home Alabama, после чего группа канула в относительное забвение.
